Newport County in the south of the state is the Rhode Island's second bluest, and contains a number of islands and a mainland portion. Harris won it by 26 points in 2024, doing best in Newport and Jamestown. Trump did best on the mainland town of Tiverton
Providence County is home to the state capital (also Providence), and is the largest in the state. Harris won it by 14 points, which is a drop from Democrats in past years, in part due to minority turnout and the rightward shift of Portuguese Americans. Trump did best in the more-rural west, and Harris in the Providence area
Washington County comprises most of the state's coastline along its southern border. Harris won it by over 15 points in 2024, with the coastal areas in the east breaking hard in her favor, and the comparatively rural west favoring Trump
