Adams County is one of the 2 bar-like counties that surround Denver. Home to cities like Thornton and Westminster, Adams is a fairly Hispanic County that has shifted rightward in the Trump era. Still, Harris carried it by a bit over 9 points, running up the margins in the district's largest cities. Trump did best in the rural east of the county, and the city of Brighton on the Weld County line. The county may prove critical to US House control this fall, as it anchors the competitive CO-08
Chaffee County is one that Democrats flipped in 2020 Presidentially, and it hasn't looked back since. Harris won the county by a whopping 14 points. The county seat of Salida went extremely hard for Democrats, and Republicans only found relative success around Buena Vista in the north. This county is extremely dependend on outdoor tourism, which tracks with other Democratic gains around the country
Pueblo County is a competitive county in the southern part of the state, holding the keys to a Congressional district and several state legislative districts. Trump won it by 5 points in 2024, flipping it red. The city of Pueblo is the main Democratic center of votes, and the outer areas are fairly Republican
Weld County is one of the state's larger red counties. Largely agriculture industry-dominated, Trump won it by 21.5 points in 2024. Harris did best in the outer Denver suburbs around Erie, and the University of North Colorado area in Greeley. The area is fairly Hispanic, hence why it saw a rightward shift in 2024, leading to then-Democratic Congresswoman Caraveo's loss
The 5th Senate district is made up of a handful of counties in the west of the state, and is a biannually competitive district. Trump won it by narrow margins in 2020 and 2024, with the rural areas to the district's west and south fueling these victories, while Democrats pull most of their margins from ski- and recreation-centric areas, which include Aspen and Carbondale to the district's north
SD 13 is a fairly Hispanic district that connects Greeley in the north with Brighton in the south. While the area used to be fairly reliably Democratic during the Obama years, its trended rightwards as Hispanics have done so. Trump carried the seat by almost 12 points, with Harris only doing well in Greeley and carrying a few precincts in Adams County
HD 49 contains all of Clear Creek and Gilpin counties, and the Rocky Mountain National Park-adjacent parts of Boulder and Larimer. Harris won the district by 34 points, with the largest of her margins coming from the portion of Boulder (city) in the district. Trump did best in Larimer County, which has the most rural and agriculture-centric parts of the district
HD 59 sits in the south of the state, and is centered around the city of Durango, with a number of Hispanic and Native American communities. In 2024, Kamala Harris won the district by 7.5 points, losing the most ground to Trump in the more rural and white eastern end of the district
